Belvoir Forest Walk - boundary walk

The forest covers 75 hectares along the south bank of the River Lagan. There are a number of historic sites to be found within the forest and these are ideal for educational field trips and school groups. Guides are available for schools and organised groups - pre booking is essential - telephone 028 4377 2251

Route DescriptionThese walks are situated in a working forest environment and may be subject to diversion and closure from time to time.

Getting to the Start (by Public Transport)Translink METRO services 77 / 78 stop on Belvoir Drive, just opposite the main Forest entrance, timings are regular throughout the day from and to the City centre via Forestside Shopping Centre. Ulsterbus service 13 calls less often at the same stopping point.
Getting to the Start (by Car)The A55 outer ring road passes close by to the Forest and directional signs are well placed for drivers travelling in either direction. From Belvoir Drive there is a tarmac entrance road leading to the Forest car park - open 24 hours Sunday to Saturday.
Getting to the Start (on Foot)Easy access from Belvoir Drive via the 'Highway to Health' or alternatively walkers can enter the Forest across a pedestrian bridge at Lagan Meadows. The Lagan towpath lies directly opposite across the river and access can be gained to this from either Shaw's Bridge or Stranmillis.

Other Stipulations on DogsAll dogs should be kept under proper control. Please ensure that dogs are not allowed to foul on footpaths - clean up and use the dog foul bins provided at the trail head.
