A circular walk through Springhill Estate visits the gardens, Springhill House, estate walk and Demesne. Springhill house is a tall roofed house to which curvilinear gable ends were added in the early 18th Century. There is a tower on an elevated site above the Beech walk dating from the early 18th century. There is an aviary in adjacent field where herons have nested.

Route DescriptionApproach Springhill House through the main gate on the B18 to Coagh. Proceed up the drive towards the house and at the cross-roads in the drive turn to the right, and continuing to follow the drive then take a left turn into the Coach Yard, which lies between the house and the Coagh road.

Pass through the Coach Yard and turn right on leaving the yard. Follow the path which leads to the Tower. There is no turn off this path.

Keeping the Tower on your right cross the summit of the hill and having gone through two gates proceed on the clearly marked path. This path will ultimately take you to the Yew Grove and as you follow this path you will see a wrought iron gate ahead. This gate leads to the gardens which you may wish to explore before following the path between the Juniper trees to the Barn.

Pass across the Farm Yard and turn right outside the gate towards the open field. Continue to follow the path as it bends to the left and skirts a plantation, eventually opening out to the Lawn Field.

A path is marked on the grass and will lead you back to the main driveway.
