The Dungonnel Way was an initiative led by Glenravel Environmental Improvement Association that has created a 9.5-mile circular walk. Funding for the project was by the Environment and Heritage Service and the Causeway Coast and Glens Heritage Trust (using a NNRTI grant). The route takes in Dungonnell Dam, Glenariff Forest Park and Skerry East Road, which is probably one of the most attractive, but least used roads in the whole of Northern Ireland. It is an outstanding opportunity to experience the isolation of the Antrim Hills without getting you feet wet as the entire length is on hard surface.

A very pleasant and not too challenging walk. Lovely views from quiet roads and forest tracks. If you're walking this in the summer you will need insect repellent.

A great walk if you stay on the path, but if yo stray from it it will be very wet - its a peat bog favoured by Duke of Edinburgh groups and will ruin a good pair of walking boots! But if you stick to the paths its a lovely walk with great views of Glenariffe glen and forest park, leading right down to the sea at Waterfoot. Absolutely beautiful!! Highly recommended!

This is a favourite walk of both myself and my wife. We enjoy a slight detour via the tearoom at Glenariff for a coffee. We normally undertake it on a Sunday morning. Great scenery and friendy locals. Highly recommended.
A comfortable walk, gentle and mostly on tarmac and forest tracks and great veiws from all points of the walk. Good hiking boots needed,as the walk takes into Glenariff forest, surface water may lie on the trail, keep your water proofs handy and rucksack to carry them in,water and some snacks, flask and so on.All inall its a good walk, I find better early morning as you get to see the Glens awake, wild life is all around you. In any direction there is plenty to see and do.
