Antrim Hills Walking Festival
5 – 7 October 2012
Organised by the Larne Borough Council this is the first walking festival to be held in the area. The event will be based in the picturesque setting of Carnfunnock Country Park situated on the Causeway Coastal Route just outside Larne.
The Festival will offer a family walk as well as a moderate and a challenging walk on Saturday and Sunday to cater for all abilities.
Saturday’s moderate walk will take place in the tranquil surroundings of the Glenarm Forest and Castle Estate while the challenging walk will explore the superb scenery of the Garron Plateau. On Sunday the more demanding walk will cover the route of the Antrim Hills Way from Ballyboley to Glenarm as part of National Trails Day.
Walks will be led by experienced walk leaders and transport will be provided to and from the walks.
There is no charge for participating in the Festival although a voluntary contribution to the Mayor’s Charity can be made at registration. Booking, however, is essential and for further information and how to make your booking for the Antrim Hills Walking Festival contact Larne Tourist Information Centre on +44 (0) 28 2826 0088 or email larnetourism@btconnect.com.
