About the Event

Belvoir Park Forest Walk is an annual 10 mile sponsored walk organised by Friends of the Cancer Centre. Friends of the Cancer Centre is one of the leading cancer charities in Northern Ireland working to support cancer patients and their families through key projects in the areas of clinical care, patient comforts, and research.

Belvoir Park Forest Walk is set in the beautiful surroundings of Belvoir Park Forest in Belfast. The walk takes in the spectacular woodlands and the winding Lagan Towpath towards the Lock Keeper’s Cottage, Shaw’s Bridge and Gilchrist Bridge.

The walk is completed in two stages, with the first leg covering a 6 mile route before participants have a well-deserved rest and enjoy a complimentary lunch and a well-earned cup of tea. The afternoon will see walkers take on the 4 mile leg of the route before crossing the finish line back at Belvoir Park Forest courtyard. Registration for the event is £5 and children under 12 go free. Participants are encouraged to get their fundraising hats on and set themselves a target of raising £50 or more.

What to Bring

Participants are advised to wear walking boots or training shoes as the path alternates between gravel and tarmac. Sandals or flip flops are not advisable and please bring adequate clothing in case of changing weather conditions.
