A walk on Divis

Divis and Black Mountain

Wednesday, 12 June, 2019

About the Event

With some breath-taking views over Belfast the trails at Divis and Black Mountain give a unique opportunity to escape the confines of city life. This upland heath boasts a variety of habitats, managed by the National Trust.

Divis, the highest point in the Belfast Hills at 476 metres, was where the Drummond light was positioned to lay out the grid for the Ordnance Survey of Ireland in 1825.

Spartan Red Sox are hosting this event as a Wednesday Walk in partnership with Belfast City Council to celebrate the launch of the new guide, A walk in the park.

What to Bring

Due to the nature of the terrain it will be necessary to bring waterproof walking boots and waterproof clothing.
