The route is then waymarked from where the IAT Ulster~Ireland route meets the Ulster Way route, just north of Bolaght Mountain to the east of Killeter, using yellow on blue Ulster Way signage. The Ulster Way signage continues until the route reaches Castlerock on the north coast of Northern Ireland. Between Castlerock and Portstewart, the route is not waymarked and you should follow the route description and the maps available for download.

The Ulster Way waymarking picks up again at Portstewart directing you along the Causeway Coast Way until reaching Ballycastle. From Ballycastle the waymarking continues to direct you along the Moyle Way to reach the coastal village of Waterfoot. Between Waterfoot and Glenarm, the route is not waymarked and you should follow the route description and the maps available for download.

The Ulster Way waymarking then picks up again at Glenarm to direct you along the Antrim Hills Way. The Antrim Hills Way continues south at Linford, but the IAT Ulster~Ireland route heads to the east here, to the port town of Larne. There is currently no waymarking between Linford and Larne.

As with all long distance walking, it is recommended that walkers carry the appropriate OS and OSNI maps, along with appropriate equipment such as a compass and sturdy walking boots, to complete the route.
