WalkNI.com Your definitive guide to walking in Northern Ireland

Get involved in National Trails Day 2011!

WalkNI is delighted to announce that National Trails Day 2011 will take place on Sunday 2nd October.

Across Northern Ireland, National Trails Day 2010 saw 58 free events on offer with over 1500 people taking part in this celebratory day.  So a big thank you to everybody who helped organise last year's events!

We are once again asking people from all sectors of the community to get involved this year. Everyone from local Walking Clubs to Women's Institute groups are invited to organise an event on a trail in your local area.

This may be an interactive bat walk or nature ramble, a family fun cycle, a 'have a go canoeing' morning or just good old fashioned walking! Our aim is to increase awareness of the wide range of quality off-road trails we have available to us all here in Northern Ireland.

This year we hope that in all areas of Northern Ireland we can have a fantastic range of interesting and exciting events on a trail, be it on land or water, and we would invite you to submit your events now.  The general principles are the same as last year, with a few small improvements.

Remember we won't be able to promote your event if they are not on the website!  As such, please register all events on www.nationaltrailsday.co.uk by Friday August 5th 2011.

You can get in touch by emailing aideen on aideen@countrysiderecreation.com or call 028 9030 3930 for more information on submitting an event on a trail near you as part of National Trails Day 2011.

Let's make National Trails Day 2011 the best yet!!!
