Please be advised that there is now an alternative route available to access the Antrim Hills from the Shanes Hill Road at Ballyboley Forest. The forest trail and open land that are usually traversed to access the Antrim Hills Way from Ballyboley Car Park , are wet underfoot throughout the year, but due to recent heavy and prolonged rainfall, are now extremely wet and boggy.

You can now park at either Ballyboley Car Park or Shanes Hill Car Park, walk along the Shanes Hill road in an easterly direction to access a stone track that will lead you up to the Antrim Hills Way. The gate and stone track are approximately 500m on the left after edge of the forest. Permission to access this track has kindly been granted by Kilwaughter Limeworks.
