Ulster Way A 625 mile (1000km) circular walking route in Northern Ireland

Lecale Way

The Lecale Way section explores the heavily indented shoreline of County Down, a coast rich in history and wildlife. From the start in Strangford, it journeys south for 40 miles through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, along quiet roads, beaches and delightful stretches of coastal path, to finish in the seaside resort of Newcastle. **Please note** - Temporary path closure of Ballyhornan Coastal path from 1st - 22nd October 2014 inclusive, due to grazing of cattle for habitat management. The closure is between Rocks Road and Sheepland Road and includes the whole of the public right of way along the coast at Ballyhornan.
