‘Darach The Guardian’ was the centre of attention at the official launch of the #GiantsOfTheSperrins Sculpture Trail.
The unveiling of three giant art installations has been created to showcase the geology, archaeology and heritage of the Sperrins.
This innovative tourism project showcases a trio of interrelated and unique art pieces created by world-acclaimed artist Thomas Dambo, located at three sites in the Sperrins at Mullaghcarn, within the Gortin Glens Forest Park, along the Glenelly Valley near Cranagh, and at Davagh Forest.
These inspiring artistic creations celebrate the region’s ancient and intriguing natural beauty and embrace the Giant Spirit of the local landscape.
The Sperrins Sculpture Trail is delivered in partnership with Derry City & Strabane District Council and Mid Ulster District Council with support from Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs
The Giants are part of a broader plan to promote this popular natural, unspoilt beauty area and drive rural tourism and investment in the local natural and built heritage.
