Route Description
This is a Link section therefore walkers are actively encouraged to make use of the public transport links between Belleek and Lough Bradan (Ederney) The section is on mainly quiet rural roads and short sections of forest track passing through north Fermanagh and briefly through south Donegal before arriving at the entrance to Lough Bradan Forest approximately 5 miles north of the village of Ederney. The route is not signposted on the ground. For those walkers determined to complete of full circuit of Northern Ireland then accurate maps of this Link section are available to download. When walking on road sections please observe the Highway Code and it is advised to wear high visibility clothing. From Belleek progress eastwards along the A47 for 4 kms, then turn left to follow the NCN Route 91 which meanders between lakes and forests in County Donegal before arriving at Pettigoe via the R233. From Petttigoe continue along the R232, turn right onto the minor road leading NE signposted NCN Route 91. After 1 km, turn left onto a minor road which crosses the border. Keep the Termon River immediately to your right for approximately 8 kms. After passing Lettercran Hill, turn right into a minor road leading through part of Kesh Forest. After 2.5 kms, turn left at the cross-roads. Continue straight on to pass Drumskinny Stone Circle and then turn left on the road over Rotten Mountain. After 1.5 km, turn right down a laneway to join the B72 road. Turn right and after 0.5 km left into Lough Bradan Forest.
