  • Walk undertaken as part of a much longer walk but starting from Gortin Glen Car Park. Walk undertaken during June 2019 and much of the area was undergoing an upgrade so most facilities were closed. Car parking machine was covered over and only the upper car park was open. The forest drive was closed to traffic which suited me anyway as I was only going to walk part of it anyway but the whole route appeared to have been very recently tarmacced. Followed surfaced road to the summit of Mullaghcarn which is well worth the effort for the views (limited on this occasion). The downside was the complete lack of information boards in the car park but I hope something will be in place when the current work finishes.
