The route is clearly signed from the car park and around the trail. Starting at the walk trailhead arch, the trail follows shared forest road, over the Drumlack River and in to mixed woodland. From here, the trail continues around the perimeter of the park. After the second river crossing point, the trail returns to the car park through oak and Norway spruce plantations alongside the Red Deer enclosure and events field.

Walk Route
Gosford Forest Park, Boundary Trail
This has been a regular walking destination for us for many years and there are plenty of walks of differing lengths.
It’s popularity has increased massively particularly since the playparks were upgraded /installed and the bike trails put in.
It can be exceptionally crowded near the car park but it is possible to leave the crowds behind if you walk on the longer trails.
The parking fees are expensive if you live locally but fine if you intend spending most of the day here.
The only real problem is the behaviour of some mountain bikers who seem to care nothing about walkers where the walking and bike trails cross or are shared.
