Walk Route
Highway to Health, Armagh (A)
The walk through Folly Glen is pleasant and Dippers and Grey Wagtails can be seen in the river.
If you don’t want to walk from The Mall, the walk along Folly Glen itself and back is a out one a half miles.
There are various trails and paths that can be taken with varying degrees of difficulty. The paths are a combination of tarmac, gravel and earth.
There was little dog fouling on our visit and not too much litter.
Overall, I would recommend this walk if you are a local or a visitor to Armagh.
Good walk. Perhaps more prominence should be give to the beauty of the Folly River/Glen which runs parrallel to Killuney Drive before its junction with Barrack Hill. There is a pathway which runs along the river. Of special interest are the buzzards which appear to be nesting in the area.
At Drumadd Road junction with Victoria Street (in spring time when there is less vegetation), the river passes under a bridge where Dippers can clearly be seen.
For an urban walk, there is a lot of nature spotting opportunities.
