Highway to Health, Donaghadee 1
The walk take place in Donaghadee, a town which has been described as one of the best kept secrets of the Ulster coastline, only 21 miles from Scotland and once the premier ferry port between Ireland and Scotland.
This urban walk is part of the Highway to Health Scheme – a simple and innovative scheme which aims to encourage people of all ages to walk for leisure and good health. It uses pole signs at one kilometre intervals on an established route.

Route Type Highway to Health
Route 1 marked in yellow is 2.66 kms (1.65 miles) with an estimated target time of 25-26 minutes. The walk starts at the bottom of New Street, proceeds up New Street out the Millisle Road, down into the Commons recreation area where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the Copeland islands and the Scottish coast. The route proceeds through the car park coming back into the town via the ancient harbour.
